Artist's Description
This original image was captured on positive (slide) film. I had the slide scanned and digitized so that I could edit the exposure in photoshop. I was at Put-in-Bay Island and we were waiting for the Ferry to take us over to Gibraltar Island to attend a lecture at Stone Laboratory. This guy was standing on the breakwall and I was able to get within about 6 feet of him. He apparently was used to people because he wasn't afraid and I was able to take several pictures of him. He just kept 'posing' for me. I was in my glory because I had been waiting for over 25 years to get a good close up shot of a blue heron. Since I captured this with a traditional film camera, I wasn't able to see if I got any good images until I got the film developed a few days later. Well lo and behold, I got several good images but this is my favorite. Watermark will not appear on any purchased image or product.
